WEDDINGS

 

The Tea Rooms and surrounding grounds are available for private hire for weddings, providing you with our stunning lakeside setting and private grounds for your special day.

 

Please get in touch to let us know your plans and we will do everything we can to help you create a unique and wonderful day.

 

We will be here to help you plan your day and ensure everything runs smoothly on the day.

 

Wedding blessings

We have hosted blessings both inside the Tea Rooms and outside in the grounds by the lake and woodlands.

Blessings have the appearance of a wedding ceremony but to be legally married you must undertake your Legal Statutory Marriage (legal bit) prior in a registry office.

A blessing can follow the traditional format of a wedding ceremony or be adapted to suit your circumstances. We have hosted blessings led by celebrants, family members and friends. As a blessing is not legally binding you will have great flexibility in how you wish to celebrate your union. You can have all the traditional elements mixed in with what works best for you.

 

Guest numbers

The Tea Rooms can host a maximum of 90 seated guests and can cater for a maximum 120 evening guests utilising both our inside and outdoor seating areas.

 

Catering

We are able to cater for your celebration or can recommend some wonderful caterers who have been here in the past. Alternatively, if you have a specific caterer in mind, please do just let us know and we will check their requirements. We do not allow self-catering.

 

Alcohol

We are happy to pour for a free bar if you wish to supply your own alcohol. We can provide glassware and fridges. We do not charge corkage.

Alternatively, we can supply a pay bar for your guests providing local beers or recommend some fantastic mobile bars. Just let us know your preference.

 

Music

We love live music and can recommend some fantastic bands and DJs that have played here in the past.

Alternatively, we have a speaker system installed which you can link to your own storage device (phone or similar) to stream your own downloaded music selection.

 

Games

We have a wide selection of vintage lawn games and children’s toys which you are welcome to make use of during your celebration.

We have also developed some quirky ways to ensure your guests fully engage in our beautiful surroundings – our duck food stand is always popular with both the wildlife and guests!

We also have a beautifully crafted photobooth with a selection of homemade props which ensures every guest has a photograph to remember!

 

Decoration

We are happy to decorate the room for your event. We have beautiful vintage tables and chapel chairs for both inside and outside the venue, haybales for a cosy retreat and covered areas in case of inclement weather. We always remember our guests’ comfort and supply a selection of cosy blankets for the evening.

 

Planning your day

We are happy to help you plan your day. We have amassed a network of contacts and can recommend various persons and companies that can make your day unique: cake makers, photographers, bars, caterers, musicians, entertainers and florists and are always open to new ideas. Please do just let us know your plans and we will do our best to help.

 

Availability

Function fee

We charge a set function fee for weddings. This allows us to fully indulge in planning and preparing for your day.
